Jordan co-founder Sally Jordan shares the story of how she and Tom Jordan discovered legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff, then set out on a mission to convince him to become our consulting winemaker in the mid-1970s. The Jordans loved French wines and never expected to make wine in California — until they tasted a Beaulieu Vineyards Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon made by Tchelistcheff. Considered America’s most influential post-Prohibition winemaker, Tchelistcheff and his winemaking legacy live on at Jordan through Winemaker Rob Davis, who has crafted every vintage of Jordan since the inaugural 1976 and was mentored by Tchelistcheff until 1992.
