The official release date for our new vintages is May 1, though Jordan Estate Rewards have pre-release access to order 2009 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon and 2011 Jordan Chardonnay throughout the month of April at the winery or our online shop. We’ll be hosting a live video chat and tasting online next month to celebrate the debut of our new vintages, and we’d love for you to join us. Let us know what you think of our new release tasting videos too.
2009 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon: This wine reminds me of a great symphony—it hits all the right notes. Clearly the direction of our fruit sourcing is paying off in enormous dividends. We have dreamed about making a wine like this for so long; we are ecstatic! Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and cassis are supported by subtle hints of baking spice and vanilla from oak aging. The mouthfeel is soft, silky and robing with a never-ending finish; the memory of this wine will linger on your lips hours after your last sip. Read the complete tasting note here.
2011 Jordan Chardonnay: Each vintage requires attention to areas of winegrowing and winemaking that vary from year to year. 2011 was one of those challenging years where empirical wisdom and agility were needed to overcome the obstacles Mother Nature handed us, so my 36 years of winemaking experience were put to good use. This Chardonnay is an elegant expression of a vintage that wanted anything but to be tamed. Aromas of freshly cut Fuji and Granny Smith apples, stone fruits and white flowers lead to vibrant minerality and bright fruit flavors. The creamy mid-palate is framed by well-integrated French oak and lively acidity that carry through to a refreshingly long finish. Read the complete tasting note here.
